English Language Specialist Efrain Diaz is visiting Poland throughout the month of June to conduct a series of workshops for teachers of English at the young learners’ level. As part of U.S. Embassy outreach to Polish teachers of English, Diaz will teach new techniques, strategies and methods to over one thousand teachers throughout Poland. In addition to running workshops at the Young Learners Resource Center (YLRC) in Warsaw, he will visit YLRCs in Bialystok, Szczecin, Gdansk, Lubartow and Wrzesnia, site of the newest center, set to open June 21. Diaz’s workshops will focus on current teaching trends, methods, strategies, and techniques. He will also address lesson planning and the role of grammar and language fluency in second-language learning, as well as innovation in communication methods.

Mr. Diaz will also take part in the International Conference “Multilingual, Multinational Schools: Opportunities and Threats,” organized by the YLRC in Warsaw, Bureau of Education of the City Hall of Warsaw, WCIES (Warszawskie Centrum Innowacji Edukacyjno-Spolecznych I Szkolen), and the U.S. Embassy. He will participate in the 8th English Teaching Market in Stare Jablonki organized by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and Nidzica Development Foundation “NIDA.”

Efrain Diaz, affiliated with Hodges University in Naples, FL, is a bilingual educator and writer with experience teaching at all education levels, from elementary to adult. He conducts training seminars and workshops for Florida’s Department of Education and teacher state certification.
